Change in the Company Name of JEIL-KIRIN PHARMACEUTICAL INC.

Tokyo, Japan, May 25, 2012 --- Effective from 1st June 2012, JEIL-KIRIN PHARMACEUTICAL INC., a joint company of Kyowa Hakko Kirin Co., Ltd. ("Kyowa Hakko Kirin") and Jeil Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., having its business of development and marketing of ethical drugs in Korea, will change its name to "Kyowa Hakko Kirin Korea Co., Ltd.".
Reason for the change
The reason for the company name change is being instituted to highlight the corporate brand image of "Kyowa Hakko Kirin" in Korean pharmaceutical market and to set up a goal to grow Kyowa Hakko Kirin Group as a global specialty pharma in one united body.
